The true cost of commuting

This is a great blog posts on the true costs of commuting:

I drive 50 miles (one way) every day for my job, it takes about an hour.

25,000 miles and over 500 hours of my time in a year.

The costs are extreme but the scary figure is that this equals almost 21 days of driving in a year.  Holy crap.

2 hours a day x 5 days x 52 weeks – 520 hours.

520 hours divided by 24 hours – 20.8 days.  Of driving.

I need to get some kind of telecommuting option going.
